We have been learning about the difference between Fairy Tales and Fractured Fairy Tales.
Fractured Fairy Tales are "modernised" versions of the fairy tale which is told from another characters perspective.
The children created their own Fractured Fairy Tales in collaborative writing groups. We decided to use Google Slides to create a Pick a Path version. This is where you click the link and decide how it ends by choosing from the available links.
Click the link below to take you to all of the Fractured Fairy Tales.

Animations
Mr Maddren came in and taught the children how to create animations using Google Slides and Google Drawings.
You need to create a background and then separate drawings for each animation you want to move. Then you create heaps of slides slowly moving the drawings where you want them to be.
Have a look at some of the ones the children created here. Continuously press down the arrow button.

"Bouncing" The Naked Eggs
After a long time awaiting we finally removed our naked eggs (see further down on the blog for more) from the jars of vinegar. They had been soaking in the vinegar for about 3-4 weeks.
Here are some questions that the children had to answer about predictions and observations.
Rykin, Brooklyn and Austin
Alesha, Ella and Jess
Lauren, Jairna and Brayden
Robbie, Riley and Kayne
Mikayla, Ryus and Sophie
What actually happened?
The vinegar acted as a dissolvent and eroded the egg shell, leaving only the white and yolk in a rubbery but see-through state. When we touched them, they wobbled and felt soft and disgusting.
Here are what the eggs looked like when removed from the vinegar.
We thought that since they turned rubbery we would try and bounce them. Check out the video below of us attempting to bounce the eggs!
The Final Observation!

Inquiry Heroes- City Mission
As part of their inquiry, Michael, Gabriel and Japhia organised a Reach Out Week where they collected cans for the City Mission. Yesterday, the boys took the cans into the City Mission to donate to them. They got to have a look around the Foodbank Donations area and learnt about what happens with all of the donations and how it is all organised.
Well done boys, you are now heroes!
