In week 3 we had our first school trip for the year. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to bond through team building activities and other fun games. The children, parents and teachers all had so much fun!
PLAYGROUND EXPLORATION
There were lots of things for the children to do. We started off in the playground. Mrs McGuinniety was like a monkey, getting on everything!
SANDCASTLE AND SCULPTURE COMPETITIONS!
The children were set the task of collaboratively creating a sculpture or sandcastle. There were some guidelines and rules like:
~everyone must be included
~nobody to be in the water
~watch out for blue bottles!!!
It was very funny to watch, the tide was quite high and would rush in at the children..I don't think I've seen so many children scamper, run, crawl and dodge so quickly!
They had to be very aware of their surroundings because there were a lot of blue bottles washed up on the beach. Thankfully nobody was stung by one...even Mrs McG!
CHECK THEM OUT!
Here are some of the sculptures that they created collaboratively!
WOW!
VOLLEYBALL
Mrs Raisin and Miss McLeod got involved in a fantastic game of volleyball. It became a very competitive game...especially once the rules were taught!
SLEEPING LIONS
On the way home, we convinced the children to play sleeping lions, amongst some other games. The peace and quiet was welcomed both parents and teachers both! Some children actually fell asleep!! :O
I must say, there are some intriguing sleeping positions...they must've got sore necks!
Ouch! That doesn't look comfortable Trinity!
Lorelei definitely fell asleep!
