This morning before school Mr. Breach had the All Blacks vs Namibia game up on the whiteboard in the West Wing. We were able to go down before class started and watch the game if we wanted to. Some of us were wearing All Blacks supporters gear to show our support for our country.
Even some of the parents came down and watched it with us. It was very exciting...especially when the All Blacks scored a try!
The overall score for the game was 58-14 to the All Blacks!
Welcome to Room 5 and 6's joint blog! Here you will be able to keep up to date with what we are up to in the classroom. To find your way around our blog: The small tabs below provide general class updates. On the blogs main page you will find general things that our class has been up to. Along the right hand side of the blog there is a box that says "Check out some of our work!" This is where you will find the work that we have been doing in class.

Celebration of Learning 2015
Today we had our Celebration of Learning.
We invited in our "Everyday Heroes" so that we could share all of our learning that we have been doing about Heroes. The children talked to their Everyday Hero about what they were doing and what their group was working on at the moment. Then they showed them around what some of the other groups in the syndicate was doing.
Thank you to everyone who attended so that we could celebrate our learning with you!

The Big Slurp!
Today South Hornby School participated in "The Big Slurp".
The Big Slurp is a celebration of the health benefits of school milk programmes around the world by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
In New Zealand, we celebrate by taking The Big Slurp so we can show our Fonterra Farmers how much we love and appreciate their milk!
All of the classes got mixed up and joined another class so that we could work together in creating the cow masks and then drinking and folding the milk.
Room 56 joined up with their buddy class, LC 1&2. They collaborated in getting the masks complete and then drunk their milk all together on LC 2s mat. The children had lots of fun working with each other!

It's almost impossible to tell who is who underneath the masks!
