Hornby High's Head Boy Visits Us!

We had a special visitor from the Hornby Community visit us in the Senior Syndicate to talk about his journey to where he is at the moment.
Lawrence is Head Boy at Hornby High School and also went to South Hornby School. This was an excellent learning opportunity for all of the students in the Senior Syndicate as they begun to realise....this could be them one day.

Lawrence was one of the first Trusted Kids at South Hornby School back in 2008!
To get to where he is now (Head Boy), Lawrence had to work incredibly hard and prove himself. Over time he developed a range of skills that helped him to reach this role.
The skills include;
- Leadership
-Respect
-Honesty
-Humbleness
-Integrity
-Initiative
- Responsibility....and many more!
These values and skills have helped to set him up for the person that he is today!

Lawrence's Hero is his Dad- just like a lot of the children in Room 56!
His Idol is Dan Carter!

The influence that he had on the children was fantastic and they asked some brilliant questions. They made connections with how the visit from Lawrence fits into our learning about Heroes. One thing that really caught the children's attention and excited them was that Lawrence was one of the children who helped to get South Hornby School the rugby posts that we have out on our field today. This information helped the children to realise that the smallest of things can make a huge difference in someone's future.

Lawrence wants to become a teacher and has been inspired by our very own Mr Maddren!
